SS 010 Floss, Toilets, and Discipline
About this episode
Shannon and Shannon use a Jim Rohn quote about the pain of discipline versus the pain of regret to talk about staying disciplined. They share honest stories about flossing, getting back to exercise after having a baby, and the regret of a business that fell apart. Listeners also get three practical tips: schedule it, evaluate your time, and use an accountability partner, plus the idea of rewarding yourself.
Show notes
The quote
- Jim Rohn: we must all suffer one of two things, the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment.
- It is written on the bathroom mirror and read morning and night as a daily check on whether the day held discipline or regret.
Stories of discipline and regret
- Flossing: after a dentist told Shannon about periodontal disease and shifting teeth, he started flossing every night, having flossed only a handful of times before.
- Exercise: after having a baby, Little Shannon took on a half marathon goal too soon, hurt her knee, and slipped into excuses. She restarted with a walk and pushed through the urge to turn back.
- Regret: Shannon looks back on his first business, which did well until depression and lost focus caused it to fail and sent him back to a job for almost two years. That regret is part of why the two started the new Standing Stronger business.
Three tips for staying disciplined
- Schedule it: what gets scheduled gets done. The two plan the day by the hour and break the week's task list down by day.
- Evaluate your time: log what you do during the day (Shannon uses Evernote) to see where time goes. Cutting gossip-heavy TV in favor of worship music, podcasts and books is one example.
- Use an accountability partner: especially for workouts and for habits like cutting soda. Partners only work if you accept their reminders rather than brush them off.
- Reward yourself: Shannon plans to buy teeth whitening strips after a month of flossing. Little Shannon's reward is a smaller clothing size. A cheat day or scoop of ice cream gives slack, since no one stays disciplined 100% of the time.
Wrap-up
- Thanks to two Patreon supporters who received shirts.
- A closing prayer for listeners seeking discipline and accountability.
- A reminder to subscribe, join the newsletter and leave a review for the drawing.

Standing Stronger Podcast episode number 10! That's right everyone, it keeps getting better. Welcome back to the Standing Stronger Podcast. My name is Shannon. And I'm Shannon. That's right, we have the same names. We say it every week, but eventually you'll get used to it. Wow, 10 is what I meant to say. 10, not 10! That's my Southern roots coming through. I can't help it. When I first met my wife, she had that Southern twang. She's like, how y'all doing? And I was like, I love you. I love it. You guys made fun of me. You didn't love it. See, I grew up in Texas, so I had that y'all thing down when I met you. Yeah.
When you said it, I was like, yeah, that girl will fit right in in my family saying y'all. She's from Jacksonville, so right there by Georgia, had that nice Southern twang. And her neighborhood, I'll never forget. Oh, stop. Let's go on. Let's go on. We're not going down memory lane. Let's go. She had an amazing neighborhood. Anyway, welcome back, guys. That's how my wife shuts me up. She's like, nope, that's not what it is. And then when I try to keep going, she points her finger at me, and then I know it's time to stop. She doesn't really point, but she points with her eyes, and I know what it means. All right, moving right along. We got an exciting podcast for you today.
We're going to talk a little bit about the amazing Jim Rohn, and he was an amazing personal development speaker and affected my life greatly. And I happened to run across one of his quotes. What was it? Was it this week or two weeks ago? I think it was last week. Yeah, last week. And when I seen it, man, it stopped me right in my tracks because I'd actually never heard this one before, and it really floored me. Are we talking about that now? What else? No, you're getting off track. Okay, what do we got to go first? First, we are going to thank our two Patreons that we got to make shirts for and deliver.
Yes, we did have two people that went with the medium range option, which got them a shirt. David, thank you very much. We do appreciate your contribution to our calls. And Michelle. So you two, thank you very much. We appreciate it. We appreciate the help. I mean, it means a lot to have someone support us, say, hey, we believe in what you're doing, and we are willing to back that up with our hard-earned money. Yes, and wear those shirts proudly because we do, and be prepared because people are going to say, what is standing stronger? Yeah. And so we're going to tell you what standing stronger is just to remind you. Right. Go. Exactly. I thought you were going to do it. I mean, I'll do it.
I didn't prepare for this part. We don't prepare for anything. We're not preparers. No, standing stronger. Anyone that knows us knows that we are not organized people. Standing stronger is simply we help bring hope to the hopeless through stories of inspiration, motivation, and hope. We let people know that are suffering from the stinking thinking that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that you can get there. And we do it through little stories and through bringing on people who have overcome amazing things, having them tell their story. And then here and there, we put together a little lesson like we have today and sprinkle it on there as well. Yeah.
So be prepared, David and Michelle, because when you wear that shirt proudly, they're going to say, ooh, what is that? Exactly. And it's a catchy, nice little logo we have. Everybody always asks. So be prepared to give your answer. That's exactly right. And if you're not wearing a shirt yet, you need to be wearing a shirt. Yes. And you can get that by going to standingstronger.com forward slash support. That will take you to our Patreon page. Patreon is where you can support the show. And if you go with the $25 option, that, my friends, will get you a T-shirt. So thanks very much for that. Okay, next on the agenda is the quote. All right.
So like I was saying, Jim Rohn, that is a guy who greatly affected my life. Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn are two of the first two personal development speakers I really started listening to. So with that being said, let's go ahead and get to it. We must all suffer one of two things, the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment. And that is by the great and late Jim Rohn. And now when I seen that, that struck me to the heart. I was like, whoa, that is profound. And I actually got up. It was in the middle of the night when I found it because I am a night owl. My wife is already asleep and we happen to write a lot of stuff on our our bathroom mirror.
So I went in there and erased what I had on there and wrote this quote so I could look at it every day. And it's been up there for two weeks. I read it twice a day, once in the morning, once at night when I'm brushing my teeth. I look at it and I think, OK, what have I done today? Have I suffered the pain of discipline or have I suffered the pain of regret? Yeah, I woke up that morning and saw it written on the bathroom window mirror. Yeah, not window mirror. And we should take a picture of our bathroom. I have to clean the countertop first. Yeah, so I woke up and it was written there and I thought, man, that's very true. And I think it is important that you read it in the morning.
So you know how you determine are you going to be disciplined or are you going to at the end of the day say, was I disciplined or do I have regret on how I live the day? So I think it is important that we read it twice. And, you know, right alongside of that, we have written, you know, do something to make your heart smile today. Yeah, you know, all that goes hand in hand. Unleash you, which you're going to hear about shortly. Yeah, you know, there's a lot of power in that. And we do that, like you said, you know, when we first wake up in the morning, we get up, you know, you go to the bathroom and you have your morning routine. You read all those things and it gets you moving.
So I like the quote, too, and it definitely sat with us recently. So go ahead. Yeah, I decided I'm going to change my story. Well, maybe I'll tell two stories. I don't know. I'm going to tell you a lot of stories. While we were talking, it made me think of something. Once upon a time. One thing I'm doing right now where I'm either suffering the pain of discipline or the pain of regret is flossing. Now, this might sound crazy. However, I've probably, up until the point where I made the decision to floss my teeth, I probably had flossed my teeth five times in my entire life. And that's just because I just went to the dentist and they're like, you really need to start flossing.
Well, the story is my teeth used to be perfectly straight. I had braces, everything else. Now, over the past, like, three years, my teeth have gone crazy and have shifted a lot. Well, I went to the dentist and he's like, well, I can tell you why your teeth are shifting. And it's because you have periodontal disease. And it's weakening the bone and the ligaments that are holding your teeth in place. Therefore, you're getting a lot of shifting and it's a bad disease to have. So you have periodontal disease. We have to take care of that. And they wanted to do this laser treatment and everything else. Well, I'm like, first, let me try to get my gums and everything else under control.
So I started flossing. And I made a goal to make it a habit to floss my teeth every single night when I brush my teeth. And I've done that religiously since. You have. It's been, you know, and I even jumped on that little bandwagon. We are really honest. I mean, who talks about flossing here? I don't floss. I never floss my teeth. Our mouth is disgusting. Hey, we brushed our teeth. We just didn't floss them. Anyways, I mean, I know people are listening to this right now. Like, are we really talking about flossing teeth? But it takes discipline. And if you're really real about it, I would say there's a high percentage of people that do not floss their teeth. So, anyways.
We have separated ourselves into the 20 percentile. So, you know, we, I followed you on that. And I know one night, you went on into the bathroom. And, baby, you coming in to floss your teeth? I said, nope, because I don't feel like it. And I went to bed. So I did skip. But then I felt crappy for doing it. Because I'm like, well, wait a minute. He's going to have better, he's going to have a cleaner mouth than me. And he's not going to want to kiss me. So I then flossed the next day. Hey, you know what, though? Listen. I can't believe we're talking about flossing teeth. Well, it's important because. Where has this podcast gone? It's important because I'm looking at it.
I'm like, you know what? This holds true. Because Yeah. I mean, I don't want to test it though. Old people know teeth look, you know, smiles. Not fun. It's not as cute as a three month old. Exactly. Oh, which tomorrow she is three months. I know. It's crazy. We're getting so old. All right. You have, you have a story for us as well. Tell us your story. I mean, it's not as fun as flossing your teeth, but, uh, yeah. For me, you know, just having the baby and, uh, going and being healthy. That's my goal. And I'm definitely achieving that by the food that I'm eating. Of course, you know, that helps because I'm breastfeeding and whatever I'm intaking, I know she's getting.
So I want to be very, um, what's the word? Very disciplined. Yeah. Good word. Um, discipline on what I'm taking in myself. So I'm eating better than I ever have in my entire life. Uh, and exercise needs to go with that. Cause obviously after you have a baby, you've got a lot of loose skin that needs to, uh, retract and a lot of no muscles. You get a lot of junk in that trunk. Junk in the trunk. Uh, at least I did. And, um. How's that song go? Oh, yeah. That's how all the butts and stuff go after you have a baby. I'm pretty sure I'm pointing with my eyes right now. I'm pretty sure I figured out what you meant by pointing with your eyes.
Cause right now there's like a laser going through your forehead. I just got it. Well, at least I had a baby. He doesn't have that excuse. I know. Okay. Anyways, we're not going to be negative and mean to each other. Anyways. That wasn't mean. I'm doing real. Okay. Maybe it was a little mean. But you look great. I should have followed that up with you look great. You're actually smaller than before you got pregnant. I am smaller. So you've done well. I didn't mean to. Don't sing that song anymore. I'm sorry. No wiggle songs. I'm in big trouble. You're in big trouble. Oh, no. She's going to start crying. We have to take a commercial break. Maybe we had to take a quick commercial break.
Because the dog started barking and woke our, almost woke our daughter up. Okay. So back to the story of working out. So we were very disciplined for a couple of weeks. We were challenged to do a marathon run. I was very excited about that. I have a really bad habit of thinking I can do more than what I can do. So just had a baby. Baby will be three months old tomorrow. We started this. The baby wasn't even two months old. Yeah, I can run a half marathon by Thanksgiving. I have zero muscle tone. I have not been running. And it just was a goal that I should not have taken on. Because, again, could I have done it? Probably. But I don't have the time to train. Properly. Properly, right.
So I ended up hurting my knee while we were running. And that deterred a lot because it took a week out. And then anybody that does work out knows when you're getting into it, something deters you. And then you make excuse after excuse after excuse of why you haven't been doing it. So the other morning I said, that's it. Back on the road. I'm not ready to run. But I'll at least start walking. There's no reason why I can't be doing that. So we woke up. Got Jordan off to school. Came home. Started getting our morning routine together. And I said, I'm going for a walk. You going with me? And he said, yes. And I was hoping he'd say no because then I didn't have to go for a walk.
Because then if he didn't go, then I didn't have to go. Nope. That's fine. Good. We're going. And I fought that and fought that and fought that all the way out the door. I did not want to go. I kept making myself. Because of this quote, I kept saying, stay disciplined. Stay disciplined. Because tomorrow, if I don't do it today, what's my result going to be tomorrow? Nothing. I'm not going to get anywhere. Or you're going to gain weight. Right. And my goal is to be healthy. And by not doing anything, have I accomplished that goal? No. So even on the walk, I literally, I told you afterwards, I was thinking, I just want to turn around right here. I don't even want to go any further.
But I kept going because of that discipline and knowing if I do not move right now, tomorrow will come and I will be in the same exact spot. Yeah. And you don't want to do that. No. Because that stinks. However, staying disciplined is not as easy as just saying, I'm going to be disciplined. I've suffered through the same type of scenarios. The biggest scenario in my life, regret I actually have, I've always tried to live my life. I always wanted to live my life in a way where I could look back and say, I have no regrets. However, I do. And that's with my business. The first business I ever started was doing well. I mean, we were not millionaires or anything like that.
However, I worked from home. We were able to go out on the weekends. We had tons of fun. Went to amusement parks. Went to hotel. You know, we spent our money on experiences. And then my depression got really bad. I started to lose focus. I wasn't disciplined. I didn't do the work that I should have been doing. And my business went down the tubes. And then I had to get a job, a J-O-B, for almost two years I worked a job. And it wasn't fun. And I lived with that regret. And I tried to make it sound like it wasn't as bad as it actually was, but it was. And now I'm back on the discipline path because I don't want to have that regret anymore. That's why we started this.
And we started the new Standing Stronger business because, hey, we only have one life. Might as well go out there and make the best of it. Yeah, absolutely. And it does take a lot of discipline. And you have to be focused. And you have to look for that end result. Find what motivates you to keep that going. And it's hard. But, you know, there's a couple of things that, you know, help us get to that point. Yeah, we have three really cool tips for you on how you can stay disciplined, feel that pain of discipline so that you do not have to feel the pain of regret. Number one is what? Schedule. Schedule, that's right. What gets scheduled gets done.
If you do not schedule it into your day, you're never going to do it. Man, my wife beats me over the head with this. And for good reason because I hate schedules. However, when I don't have a schedule, guess what gets done? Nothing. Well, things get done. You don't feel like you've accomplished. You know, and I'll even try to schedule us down to the hour of what we're doing. I mean, even the simple things. I write it down. You know, 7 o'clock, we wake up. Now, that might seem simple to people, but. 6.30. Well, now it's 6.30 for you. And actually, I got up even earlier. I was up 5.30, 5.45 this morning. And I did good because I was up before my family.
I was able to eat breakfast and read my Bible and spend some time with the Lord and, you know, everything else. I was a little tired this afternoon, but I might try and work that in. I'm not totally sold on it yet. So, we'll let you know how that goes. But, you know, we all suffer in the mornings of hitting that snooze button. You know, as much as everybody hates alarm clocks, they hit that snooze button. You have to hear it over and over and over again. You might as well just get up. Right. You hate your alarm, hit it and get up. One thing successful people don't have and that's snooze buttons. They know they have stuff to get done. They get up and they start getting it done.
Yeah, and it's very true. And you have to stay focused on it. So, even if that's the first thing that's on our schedule is 7 o'clock or whatever time we're getting up now. 6.30. You know, wake up. It's hard with the baby. Now, see, I'm making an excuse. Yeah, there you go. Come on. I'm making an excuse. Bring it. 6.30, wake up. You know, Jordan, we know we have to be out the door 8 o'clock to get him to school so we're not waiting in that God-awful pick-up line or drop-off line forever. So, you know, we know 8 o'clock, it's on the schedule, drop Jordan off at school. Now, do we really have to put that on our schedule? No. But it gets done. Right. It's something we get to cross off.
We accomplished it. We come home. There is a workout scheduled at 9 o'clock. You know, and then eat breakfast. You know, these things are written down in an order that we want to accomplish them. And then we actually will schedule out what needs to be done this week. We'll write out everything that needs to be done, and then we break it down by day. What are we doing this day? What are we doing?
Okay, what needs to be done on Monday out of that list? what I can choose what I put into my brain the knowledge that I'm putting in you know so for me it was well I'll do laundry and watch The View while I'm doing laundry or the news you know those though both of those things are very negative they talk negatively it's gossip it's you know does nothing for me to move me forward right I mean so those are two things I cut out literally when Jordan leaves in the morning after watching cartoons this week I've made it a habit of turning the TV off and I haven't turned it back on and if I get bored I turn the either worship music on or something a podcast something that's gonna fill my head positively right you know and give me knowledge you're really good at that you read books you are constantly reading and you never were a reader nope in in high school how many books did I read none because I read them for him I had homework I had a book report done I'm like babe could you hook me up please and read this book and I would do it I'm done with that I was lucky you were lucky you still are lucky yeah so our point is a schedule it in if you put it on the schedule it's going to get done point number two is what I wasn't done with point number one no evaluate your time that was my point of all of that make sure that you know you can write down your day and what you're actually doing when you journal throughout your day you've done that and said how productive was my day you can look back on it and say well I say I have no time but that hour I spent doing this wasn't useful in my life and you could replace the hour with whatever right I call it a hit list and I use I use Evernote for it and as I was doing something during the day I would say okay I'm sitting down and I'm checking email so I go into Evernote put the time checking email then after I checked email I went on Facebook so I went on Evernote went on Facebook and I logged everything I did for the day and when you look at what you did man you spend a lot of time on the toilet you do we have gone from flossing to toilet talk I mean we are on it today I think this could be it one of our most viewed or listened to podcasts this is great my point is I don't spend that much time on the toilet you do I do not that's because you take iPad with you and you get lost in what you're doing you don't have to tell everyone well some people take magazines there are a couple selfies that I've taken in the bathroom no but my point is you waste a lot of time and if you don't have time it's just because it's not that important to you yeah absolutely so you know make your schedule evaluate your time and the next one is accountability partner yes an accountability partner makes makes it huge especially especially working out is that your southern draw again especially I don't know what it is especially when it comes to working out because if you have an appointment at the gym at 630 in the morning or five o'clock in the morning or whenever it is eight o'clock at night and you're going by yourself it's very easy to say nope gonna skip it however if you know your partner's going to be there waiting for you you're going to get up and go so it's not that the partner's more disciplined it's you and him are thinking the exact same thing I have to go cuz Joe's gonna be there I have to go cuz Shannon is going to be there it's one of those things where you're going to get up and go plus if if it's something where you can't have an accountability partner it like I'm going to eat right I'm gonna change my eating habits so or I'm going to quit drinking soda the way you can get accountable is go to someone and say hey listen this is my goal will you help me stay accountable with that you know just remind me call me ask me and if you have a good friend they're gonna do that for you you know for me it's soda I am I tell everyone I'm a cokehead not the white stuff the brown stuff I love soda and I do my best not to drink soda however I find myself I'll get into a habit where I start drinking it again today I had a soda and I picked my son up from school and it was sitting in the car guess what he does he brings in it brings in the bottle of soda and shows my wife daddy drank soda because he knows that that is something I don't want to do so he held me accountable for that yeah he is he was big tattletale today but with that accountability it's important that you don't just shove those people off right right I'm again pointing with my eyes you can't hear that but you know because it's very easy for him I want the soda I'm gonna go drink the soda and then we tell him it's not good for you it's not just that soda is bad for you he's literally allergic to soda and he continues to put this in his body so you know it becomes one of those things as his accountability partner where you just end up saying whatever you're a grown man you're gonna make this stupid choice we've already told you you know the consequences and now you have to suffer them right well that's that is a good point because we all have our struggles we all have our crutches that happens to be one of mine and it's one of those things where I sway back and forth I'll go good I'll go good you know the the longest I made it was what eight months eight months without a soda and then we went to Key West and I was like well we're at Key West I'll have just one yeah and then I turned into two a day you know you don't drink them daily anymore but you know you are better than what you used to be but you know the point of that is to make sure that your accountability partner if you want an accountability partner use that accountability partner and make it work don't just say will you be my accountability partner they're gonna hold you accountable and then you just say well forget you right and in I don't want to say a defense however you guys holding me accountable has really helped me because I was at one time I either drank soda and when I drank it at least a two liter a day or I didn't drink it at all now I can go a week two weeks without it have one and then go a week or two weeks without it so it's one of those things where having that accountability partner has helped me progress in the avenue of progression so it's definitely good and even if you struggle at first the point is I've had this goal to not drink soda for a very long time and it went from not being able to do it at all I literally couldn't go three days without a soda to finally putting it down for eight months to getting re-addicted drinking a two liter or more a day to putting it down for 30 60 days at a time and now in the past you know 30 60 days maybe one or two a month so it's definitely helped in that sense see we teach through actual stories of real life what other person that has a positive motivational podcast says I struggle with stuff I actually have flaws right but I do everyone does and if they act like they don't they're lying well you know it's I think people have talked about with us too is we're not no one's perfect you know and we have to realize that even though we've been through things we're still going through things and we always will and it's always gonna be a constant struggle for us maybe you know there's always a season there's you know a season of what you go through but knowing that we're real you know we're real people real stories real struggles every day just because we went through something ten years ago doesn't mean we're not going through something today so you know these things we're talking about they're still real in our lives we're doing it as you're doing it we're making that schedule we're having accountability partners you know and our last point was to make an award for your achievement that's right right now with flossing this is why I brought it up because I wanted to talk about it in this this segment of the podcast is I said okay I want to floss if I floss for 30 days I'm going to spend the money on whitening whitening and I want to floss for 30 straight days I think it's has it been 30 days since I've been doing that close to it you need to write down your days I don't know I should have wrote written down my day but I'm pretty sure I'm coming up right now on 30 days so at the end of this month I just made it for the end of October I said all right once I get through October if I've made this a habit which I have it's been at least three weeks yeah it's definitely it's probably been a month already but I made the goal for for the end of October if I do it by the end of October make a habit of it I'm going to spend the 60 bucks on those teeth whitening strips with which you know seem ridiculously crazy expensive but since I was a soda addict my teeth have gotten a little stained so you know that that's something that has keep me motivated because I'm like I want to reward myself with that and if I don't floss I'm not gonna be able to reward myself with that right and you know for me I say you know a lot and I'm just gonna put that out there because I keep saying it and we've talked about this she's I'm working on it, but I know probably driving somebody crazy that's listening to our podcast.
It's like, well, she quit saying, you know, I'm working on it, you know? So my reward, obviously, with trying to be healthier and things like that, I want to, I mean, what girl doesn't like to shop? So it's nice to go and put on a size smaller pair of shorts or, you know, jeans, you know? I mean, it's really bad. Sorry. I need to discipline myself with that. But, you know, that's a very good point. So at first when he said that award yourself with an achievement, why would you do that? Like that your reward is the achievement, right? You know, you have to look forward to something. So you look at, well, obviously, the end result is something positive to look forward to.
However, you also reward yourself with something like saying, hey, I stayed disciplined. So it's not only that you get the positive result of that discipline, you also say, okay, I'm going to go out and I'm going to buy myself a big old hunking scoop of ice cream if you're on a diet or something like that. It's the same reason why if you look at any successful dieting program, they're going to give you a cheat day because nobody, nobody, nobody can stay disciplined 100% of the time every single day. So you have to allow yourself a little bit of slack. You have to allow yourself something else to look forward to besides that end result. And it helps for me anyway. That's good.
Yeah, I'm going to break the bank. Hey, that's all right. No, see, I like it when my wife. I know a really good jeweler. I do too. I like it when my wife shops because she never shops for herself. My wife is one of these people. When she goes shopping, she'll go and she'll pick out a whole bunch of stuff, put it in the cart, walk around the store and then go put it all back. I do think my sister refuses to shop with me because of that. Yeah, I'm like, what are you doing? She will say, no, I'm not putting it back. You go put it all back because I'm really bad about that. Yeah. Well, I started doing that self-evaluation like do I really need it?
I could buy McKenzie this or Shannon needs this or Jordan should have this. I'm not a big shopper, honestly. It's just not who I am. Shannon is not a think for herself. She is a think for everybody else and likes to give all my stuff away. Like that's another day. Like salt and pepper shakers. I asked her the other day, I said, who looks at a salt and pepper shaker and says, we're never ever going to use this ever again. I might as well get rid of it. We didn't use salt for a really long time. Yeah, we quit using salt. So she gets rid of the salt and pepper shaker. I'm like, you really think that we're never going to use it again ever? So yeah, anyway, like she said.
Someone please, for the love of God, send him a salt and pepper shaker. Yeah. So yeah, like she said, that's a story for another podcast. His birthday is Sunday and I have a feeling he's going to get a salt and pepper shaker for his birthday. Well, now we're using sea salt. So, you know, it's not as bad. We went to the, what was it called? The seasoning that we used? The Mrs. Dash? Yeah, Mrs. Dash. And then we went from that. Now we got sea salt and I'll put a dash of sea salt in there. However, it's in this huge container and I, you know, I feel like I'm trying to dump a seven pound truck into it. I just want a salt and pepper shaker. All right, let's play some music, why don't we?
All right, we're about to get done here. So our three tips are number one. Schedule. Number two. Accountability. Number three. Award yourself. That's right. And the quote again for you guys is we must all suffer one of two things, the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment. That's by the great Jim Rohn. Now, before we go, you know what we do. We say a little prayer for you. So we are going to say a prayer for you right now. Lord, we just thank you for the day that you've given us. We just thank you for this podcast and the listeners today. You know, we just pray that they come to you for the pain of discipline.
We need to stay disciplined in your word, Lord, and know that we are created for you, by you, for your greatness, to achieve great things, Lord. And we can do that. And just pray for everyone looking for that accountability partner or to reach the goals, Lord, that they have for themselves. I just lift all of these prayers up to you today. And someone that's struggling, Lord, that's the point of our podcast, like Shannon said earlier, is to bring hope to the hopeless, Lord. And we lift them up to you, and we know that this is just a valley and that they can stand on mountaintops, Lord. And we just pray that they can move in that direction. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. That's right.
We believe in you. Go to StandingStronger.com today. Get, what is the word I'm looking for? Subscribed to the podcast. Get subscribed to the newsletter as well. And you only have a few more days to get those reviews in because we're having that drawing for the five listeners that do the review. Tell them about it. Yes, that is going to be done the week of November 15th. So they actually have about four more weeks left. Yes. So go there, do the review, give us our rating. We did make it to the New and Noteworthy on iTunes. For religion. For religion. Yeah, we were number 17. Woo-hoo! So let's get to the top of the charts, you guys. Help us get there. Yeah, exactly. Thank you.
Have a fantastic day. And as always, hopefully I'll see you on the beaches of the world. Walk through life. Every day is a new beginning. Shine your light. It's your day and the world is waiting. Move along to the song singing in your soul. Feel the beat, clap your hands, let it take control. All you need, all you want, are you ready to find your way? Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Cause every day is a new day. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. And everything's going your way. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. And you want to make it last forever. Well, keep it together. Cause it keeps getting better.
