Welcome back to the Standing Stronger Podcast. My name's Big Shannon. And I'm Little Shannon. Let's go. That's right, it keeps getting better. We're back. Man, that song makes you smile. I'm still dancing. I mean, holy cow, that song brought back fond memories and almost brought a tear to the eye. Yeah. So let's jump into it. We're going to be talking about today. We're going to be going over what to expect and what we're going to be doing from here on out. A little bit about why we stopped, why we're starting again.

And if you're new to the podcast, we'll probably send you here just so you can know what to expect and kind of judge if this is going to be a podcast that you want to subscribe to. And I'm going to say yes, hit that little... Well, it's not subscribe anymore. It's follow the show. So hit the little follow button wherever you listen to podcasts, and that way you're updated and all that good stuff. Yeah, we're excited to be back and go back through things we probably discussed in a different way because life changes every year, it seems like. So I'm sure we've been through some things that maybe we would have handled differently four or five years ago than what we do right now.

But that's life. We do life together and we like sharing it with you guys. Yeah, that's crazy. It's been a long time since we actually started this podcast. I think this podcast was started like six, seven years ago. Gosh, I don't even know. I'd have to look. But let's talk a little bit about the history and why we started this podcast to begin with and then kind of move forward from there on where we're going and things of that nature. Okay, sounds good. So starting the podcast, I really wanted to start this podcast and I'll explain how Standing Stronger started. So if you go back and listen, you'll get the full story, but I'm going to give you a snapshot.

But in 2012, I attempted suicide and decided to get some help. After that, I wanted to kind of share the journey and let people know that mental health is not something to be ashamed of and that if you are struggling, there are other people out there that are struggling and it's okay. So that's kind of where we started and why we started. So the overarching theme of the podcast, if you go back and listen to those first episodes, is going to be our journey and how we navigated through those difficult times and how we got to a better place out of that. Yeah, we cover a lot of things like sickness and death and mental health and just a lot of dark areas of our life during that time.

And we know it helped a lot of people because of the comments and responses that we got from our audience, whether they knew us or not, just realizing that they weren't alone. And that's our whole purpose is, you know, so many times, like you said, you get stuck thinking you're the only one going through something and at the end of the day, we're all going through it. It's called life. And it resonated with people because those podcasts actually were downloaded over a million times and listened to over a million times, which is mind-blowing to think about. Yeah, even in different countries, which is weird. Yeah, all over the globe, people listen to it and it really motivated us to do this.

And then we kind of moved into a different chapter of our life, a different phase. So through all of that, we also talked about how we were starting our new business and where that business was going and things that we wanted to do with that business. And unfortunately, standing stronger, the mission of, you know, preaching, getting over our obstacles and things of that nature kind of got put to the wayside and we put a major focus on the business and this passion project got pushed aside. Yeah, and I think we kind of got stuck in the rut of just talking about all of the bad stuff we had been through. And we're like, well, we're past that.

Not that we don't want to share it to help other people, but we wanted newer content to be able to share. But when you're in those moments, like you said, different priorities take over and make you kind of lose sight of what you're doing it for. Right, and instead of shifting and kind of going into a different direction, which we tried to do, the passion just wasn't there. So it went to the wayside. And now the older we get, the more successful we've become. We now realize that there's another message to get passionate about, and that's the messages that we want to share on this podcast.

And, you know, it starts with a little bit of business, running a business together, marriage, how to navigate a marriage, life in general and how to navigate through life. And now that we're older and we've been through all of this craziness and we've gone through downs and pushed through and came up, you know, on a positive side, there's lots of experiences, lots of, you know, knowledge and wisdom, I think, that can come out of that, and we kind of want to share that. I think even more importantly is just realness.

You know, I think the way our world has become with social media and, you know, technology in general, it's really easy to become either, you know, watching someone else and living through them vicariously or, you know, just hiding behind social media so people don't really know what's going on. And not that your life is anyone else's business, I think our whole point is just we are probably the realest people that we know. I don't know anybody else. I mean, I have a lot of friends and a lot of family, and when I look at it, like, we are very open book people to where we are not people pleasers. We don't look for the outsider's approval when we're making decisions.

And I think in a lot of ways we can help, you know, bring to the table the real life of being a mom, being a dad, being a wife, being a husband, you know, being a business owner, just all those things that we already named and understanding that at the end of the day we're just trying to be the best versions of ourselves. Right, and one of the things, like you said, us being so open is we're so used to sharing the negative aspects and the positive aspects. You're going to get the really real raw things that a lot of people don't want to discuss, not because it's bad to discuss those things. Other people just want to keep it private.

We happen to not really care because if you look at us and think something negative, we don't care that you think that negative thing about us. Yeah, hit next, which is all fine. And that's what's really going to set us apart, and if you're looking for that realness, if you're looking to hear about the struggles that we're going through, not only hear about the struggles, but hear about the triumphs that we're able to, you know, devise out of those struggles, I think this is going to be a fun podcast for you to listen to. Oh, and by all means, like we do not have medical degrees. We are not therapists. We are not, like, going to tell you how to fix yourself. Yeah, I can't fix you.

You know, we can only share our experiences and things we did to help us or look to you to help us. We might be going through something where I'm like, hey, listen, I've tried doing this, this, and this, and that's not working. So what else you got? How are you going to do it? And, you know, it'll be great once we get a little bit bigger and more established, actually bringing some people onto the podcast and doing interviews and things like that I think would be fun as well. Sure. So, yeah, and that's the biggest thing is what Shan just said is we can't fix you. We're not doctors. And, you know, all of those neat little disclaimers that the lawyers want to put in there.

If we talk about money, it's not a guarantee that you're going to make money. If we talk about business, it's not a guarantee that you're going to be successful in business. We're just going to share our experiences. We're going to share our thoughts on those experiences, and we're going to talk about what we have done to navigate through those experiences, and we're going to talk about what's worked with us. We're going to talk about what's not worked with us. Sounds good. Yeah, so if that's something you think you would enjoy, I would say go ahead and click that follow button. But I also want to give you a glimpse into what it's going to look like.

So, you know, Shan and I are also this is obviously for entertainment. Like we said, we're not doctors or anything like that. So we want to bring a little bit of entertainment to the podcast as well, and we'll talk a little bit about our lives, and we'll talk about the things that are going on in our lives. We'll talk about the struggles, and we'll give you a couple tips. So is there anything that you want to talk about in this podcast, babe? No, I'm just excited to be back, and we'll get set for next week. Well, you there is something I want to talk about. OK, what do you want to talk about? Well, I want to talk about something. I don't think we've ever talked about this on the podcast.

And I think it's a huge deal and something I'm very proud about. And I know something you're very proud about as well. But Little Shannon happens to be the cheerleading coach for our local high school. And that happens to be a big part of our lives. And I don't think it has ever been discussed on a podcast. I don't know. I'd have to go back and listen. I've been doing this in my seventh season, so I'm sure I probably just started. Or we might not have been competing at that time or something like that. But it's different. I can definitely say you weren't competing when we were podcasting regularly because that's only been three. You're going into your fourth season. Yeah.

Going into her fourth season, which so she's going into her fourth season. So she's completed three full seasons and she has been third in the state twice. So two out of those three years, she's placed third in the state, which is pretty awesome. Yeah, it's exciting. It takes up a lot of my time and a lot of my focus and energy. And we start back next week. So, yay. Yeah, so that's a little bit about Little Shannon. I happen to be a serial entrepreneur. So we own Standing Stronger Productions, which is an online marketing agency that helps local businesses leverage the Internet to grow their profits.

And we do that through mainly leveraging local search and the Google My Business algorithm to help drive more phone calls, things like that. We also have Get Real Estate Photos where our company actually takes photos of beautiful houses, not only multimillion dollar houses, but regular everyday houses. And we've shot over 3000 houses. We've been blessed to be in Fortune. Our photos have been in Fortune, in Forbes and on covers of magazines, which is pretty cool. We also own an ammunition manufacturing company called Premier Ammunition that we co-founded with some of our best friends. Yeah, a lot of stuff going on. People say like, I don't know how you do everything. We don't know either.

We're just trying to make it all work. Right. And that's one of the reasons why the podcast has fallen to the wayside. But one of the reasons why we want to bring the podcast back, because a lot of people would love to know how you craft a life that is crafted by your own design and one where you do what you want to do, which is kind of cool. Yeah, and I think with the podcast for us, it's not just a podcast. We actually have a desire to write books and do public speaking and the podcast. And this is a whole nother venture that we both desire to do. So it's just another platform.

Yeah, so that is a little bit about us, what we do, why we do it, where we've been, where we're coming from and where we're going. So, like I said, a couple of times, wherever you listen to your podcast, subscribe or follow to make sure that you keep up to date with these podcasts. And did I did I tell them that it's going to be released every Monday? Oh, so when will these podcasts be released? They will be released every single Monday. I'll probably release them. I like I have them scheduled to be released. What, like 8 a.m. or something like that, that way, actually, maybe even maybe even Sunday night at midnight so they can be listened to on the way to work.

But we're going to be recording them the week before, so it'll be a week behind that next Monday. You'll you'll hear about it. And then we might actually get a little bit ahead, so it might be a couple of weeks behind. So if you hear us talking about something that isn't actually that Monday, that's the reason. But look for us every single Monday. We will be coming across your pod casting feed and we can't wait to get to know you guys. We can't wait to build this community back up and we cannot wait to, you know, just go on this journey, this new adventure that was put on pause. And and now we're back. All right. Thanks. Have a fantastic day.

And as always, hopefully we'll see you on the beaches of the world. Oh, man, I miss that. Thanks again for listening to Standing Stronger dot com. That's Standing Stronger dot com. You can get on our email list. All that good stuff. Forgot to say that. Goodbye.
