A Legand – Jim Rohn Passes Away
Posted on 06. Dec, 2009 by admin in Mindset, Podcasts
Today is a day that will be remembered by many, for many years. A day that a legend passed away. A day that someone who has changed so many lives finally went home to meet his heavenly father. Today’s December 5, 2009 and the legendary Jim Rohn has passed away. Jim Rohn was an amazing speaker and motivator. The way he was able to craft his words and drive home major points with simple stories was remarkable. He was truly a wordsmith that could capture the hearts of many in just seconds after he started to speak.
Jim was a person that changed my life when I was in my mid-20s. I remember driving in my red Mustang around Jacksonville as I worked my commission sales job, listening to Jim Rohn and getting fired up. I remember listening to the simple stories of his very modest beginnings and thinking that if he can do it, so can I. Thinking that there is hope at the end of the end of the tunnel. And like John Maxwell says… “If there is hope in the future, there is power in the present.”
The disciplines and philosophies that he taught have stuck with me till this very day, and a lot of them are a cornerstone of what I teach in my courses.
One quote always seems to stand out to me, and that is…
“Make measurable progress in reasonable time” Jim Rohn
That is such a simple statement but it is so profound. Another one of my favorite quotes is “wages make your living, but profits make you a fortune.” I have actually put together a podcast talking about how Jim has changed my life. I hope you enjoy it…
Talk soon,
