I’ve been wanting to start a Book-of-the-Month club here at the blog for quite a while. But, for one reason or the other I never started. Well, today that changes.
The reason why I feel the Book-of-the-Month club is so important, is because reading makes you better. Here’s a saying I live by… if you’re not striving towards the top you are falling to the bottom.
One of the ways I feel that you can always be striving for the top is through education. Whether that be formal education or self-education. So, that is why this section of the blog exists.
This month’s a Book-of-the-Month is Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance
Tony Dungy is a retired NFL head coach, and a Christian. He’s a well respected author and speaker, and has accomplished many great things throughout his lustrous career, including to be the first African-American head coach to win the Super Bowl. This is the second book he has released, but we will start here.
The best way to read a book in 30 days is to see how many pages there are and then simply divide the pages by however many days are in the month. In our case, I’m starting the Book-of-the-Month in the middle of the month. So, we are going to be a bit strapped for time. So, I am going to take the days we have left in the month and see how many pages we need to read a day to hit our goal to finish this book by the end of the month.
As of October 13, 2009 we only need to read 15 pages a day in order to finish this book by the end of the month.
You can grab this book at all major book retailers, or at Amazon.com.Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance
My suggestion, however, would be to visit your local Christian bookstore and buy it there. If they do not have it they will be able to get it for you.

Hi Shannon!
Been reading your blog for a bit, and I quite love it. I’m part of a book club myself. Gets me motivated to read something other than my monthly Martha Stewart magazine (what can I say? I’m addicted to that woman!!!)
