What would you do if the internet crashed for good? Would you get used to life with less communication and less "being connected" or would you be pretty bummed for the rest of your life?

This is assuming it was not fixed. Perhaps some largescale EMP attack or something that crippled it for the next 50+ years or so.

As a newbie in internet marketing, I don't have a list yet. Twitter is a boon to newbies like me. It is like having a list, though not targeted. It allows you to build relationships with people whom you never met before. It allows you from time to time to insert some promotional messages for your website or product.

Using trim.com to abbreviate my site and announcing the site throught Twitter, I am able to verify that some Twitter users actually visit the site. I do not even have to write a long message - just 140 characters.

I build my followers passively - i.e. they follow me first, then I follow them. How much more followers can I build if I did it actively?

You can choose to build a following in particular niches by simply typing keywords on the search box. Then, you can start following the people there, who hopefully will follow you back.
