Filling That Void in Your Life – It’s Not about the “Things”

faith

faith Have you ever wondered what your put here to do? What’s the driving purpose behind your life? This is something I probably struggle with every single day. A question that I’m consistently asking myself and pondering over. Why am I here? What am I put here to do? It seems like a never-ending struggle.

One thing that keeps resonating with me over and over again is that I have been put here to help people. To help people move past objectives and to help people just get better in life, and ultimately move closer to God. The problem, is I’m not exactly sure how I am supposed to do that. So, I guess I’m just going to blog. Going to blog about my life and what’s happening in it. I’m going to try to share some of the wisdom I’ve come across over the years and some of the pitfalls I was able to overcome.

One thing you’ll discover about me is I’m a very open book. I really don’t hide anything, and I wear my feelings and faith on my sleeve. With that being said let’s talk about a struggle that I think we all go through. And that struggle is wanting to get better in life and do great things. We all have this hole, or this void, that we are trying to fill. And I’m confident I have found a way to fill that void.

Finding a solid directional in life is crucial to the development of your inner being. If you are walking aimlessly through life, it is hard to find the motivation or willpower to accomplish anything great. We can all live mediocre lives without a vision. But, who wants to live a mediocre life?

For me the vision has become quite clear… Serve God and help other people. That might sound like a very generalized statement but is very precise in my mind. And, you’re going to see exactly how that unfolds here on the blog. You’re going to see the steps I take and how I implement my plans and goals to move forward with this vision.

When it comes to serving God my goal is to use my influence and knowledge to market on the Internet to help open people’s eyes to the fact that it is okay to be a good person and live a good life. It seems that most people have been clouded by the crap that is perpetuating through our society today. People think that is only cool if you are bad. It is only cool if you are a reality star that treats life as if it has no meaning and is all about partying.

The problem with that is there is a void in your life that will never be filled. People strive their entire lives to gain things, to gain stature, to get to the top of the ladder, or to gain fame and much more. The problem is while they are trying to get all of those “things” they are leaving a huge void in their life. They are trying to fill it with those “things” but can’t. I’m here to tell you that you will never fill that void with “things or stuff”, because that void is put there for a specific purpose. And to be more specific, a specific person.

You can wander through life living and striving for material things but that void will never be filled. That void will still be there no matter how big your TV is, or how nice your car is. That void will still be there no matter if you live in a mansion, or own your own yacht. You cannot fill this void with things… it can only be filled with faith.

The Big misconception

Studies show that upwards of 90% of people believe in a God. Most people believe one exists, but do not want to recognize him because it is not the “in thing” or “cool thing” to do. People believe that they have to become this person that they are not. They have to totally change who they are on the inside.

That could not be further from the truth. God loves you for who you are. The person you are inside. God knows your heart and he knows your intentions. Deep down the vast majority of us have intentions that are good. Intentions that would make even the bitterest of people smile. The problem, is we try to hide those good intentions and good will to match the façade that society wants us to be.

We feel as if submitting and openly believing in and following God will somehow dilute our social stature and make us some type of hypocrite. Again, that can not be further from the truth. Here is a fact… a person who believes and follows God is exactly like you. They make mistakes, they are not perfect, they yell at their wives, they get mad at their kids, they screw up big time, they do everything you do.

They do a great job at work, they love their wives, they love their kids, they coach T-ball teams, they coach basketball teams, they do all the same things as you. Here’s the difference…

They are actively filling that void that you are trying to fill with “things”. The people who are openly following God are actively trying to get better. They are trying to help other people. The best way I can describe it is, the best struggle in my life.

A shuttle between good and evil. A struggle between right and wrong. A struggle between the demons of my past and hopes of my future. A struggle that I know I cannot overcome by myself and will not face by myself. A struggle that forces me to lean on my creator and forces me to lean on the person that loves me the most.

I am no different from you. Just like you I struggle with things, just like you I want to be successful in life, I want to be a good spouse just as you do, we are no different. We are both children of God. And we are both put here to do amazing things.

I do not know who you are but I came across this website, I am sorry but you are completley wrong. God loves us, and no, we arent perfect. Because we are all sinners deserving of hell. Why did Jesus die? Just to believe that He died? No, you must be born again to become a child of God. Because, in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God”. Therefore, Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. We need to repent and put our trust in Jesus lifes blood, that He shed 2000 years ago for all mankind because of our sin that is an offense and the exact opposit of Gods nature. He sent Jesus to reconcile us, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 (Do not follow your heart and what the world has portrayed in being saved/believing in God.) “”Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”Acts 2:38 Whoever may stumble upon this comment, I pray for you and that you will see the TRUTH, and please read your bible, you will see it there! God Bless you.

I apologize..I have to say with my first comment was a little forth comming, but what I mean is, we cannot better ourselves no matter how hard we try, or earn our way to heaven/God. I am pointing out to you and anyone else, that you have to come to the cross, we have to understand our sinfulness. You may be saved, but this specific blog can mislead even if not intentional, for a lost person. What I am saying is if you read your bible, I am sure your firmilliar with our separation from God, at birth because of adam and eves sins past down, and we need to be born of God by repenting and trusting, picking up our cross and follow Jesus Christ. amen.
